Life Lessons From A Princess
Lessons From A Princess
Gleaned from Princess Tiana on vacation at Disney World in Orlando.
Once upon a time there was a little girl who had no role models in the world of fairy tales and princesses. She looked around near and far to find someone who looked liked her. Someone with milk chocolate-brown skin like her family and friends but they were nowhere to be found.
Fast forward to the year 2009 and the introduction of the first ever African-American Fairy tale princess. Why did it take so long she wondered? The now grandmother in 2012 has the pleasure of vacationing with friends and experiencing the wonder of a unique fairy tale princess with the next generation.
Now back to the lessons from a princess.
– Always conduct yourself like a lady, and never kiss a frog.
– Courage is a virtue.
– Believe in yourself
– With focus and persistence you can reach your goals
– You have to work hard, each and every day
– Don’t lose sight of what’s important
– Good food brings people together
– Dreams do come true
Vacations become special events that hold lasting memories to little ones who
still believe in fairy tales and the wonder of amusement parks. The smiles, laughter and looks
of wonder on the little ones faces brought joy and contentment to our faces.
And to a grandma who appreciates the fact that her granddaughter and other children
can see a princess who looks like them.
The last frontier remains – an African Prince, hopefully coming soon.
